Joint Replacement Center
North Memorial's Joint Replacement Center is a special place for patients who undergo total joint replacement surgery.Patients at the Joint Center share their experience in a group setting, from pre-operative education to post-operative rehabilitation. Amenities such as renovated private rooms, music and pet therapy are geared to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Family members, or friends act as coaches, and learn throughout rehabilitation how to perform exercises that will speed the patients return to normal activities. Having the coach involved helps keep the patient motivated and allows the coach to experience firsthand how they will have an active part in the patient's care and rehabilitation when they return home.
The center incorporates a team approach to treatment involving the orthopedic surgeon, physician assistants, physical therapist, nurses, case managers and other professionals. Patients who undergo joint replacement surgery and participate in the group setting are typically walking further in less time and have a quicker increase in mobility, which leads to better outcomes from the joint replacement surgery.
