Kristine Allen works alongside hospitalists and other specialists, caring for customers with chronic, progressive illnesses or life-threatening illness. Their goal is to improve quality of life by managing distressing symptoms and providing an added layer of support. She also assists in ensuring customers and their family have all the information they need to make important decisions based on what is most important to them.
Experience
Kristine Allen has been a nurse since 1974 and has experience in med-surg, psychiatric nursing , bone marrow transplant, and hospice care in the home and inpatient settings. She completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing and certification as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner and worked for a family practice clinic in the NW suburbs managing both TCU and long-term care residents.
In 2004, Kristine Allen became part of North Memorial Health’s first hospital-based palliative care consultation team. She was certified as an Advanced Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse and continues to be a full time member of this team as it has expanded.
Personal
Kristine Allen is married with three adult children and four grandchildren.
