Youth Mental Health First Aid Class (Virtual)

Event Information
Content is applicable for adults working with youth (age 12-18). It is designed to teach basic first aid skills needed to help a young person who is experiencing a mental health challenge, mental health crisis, addictions challenge and other stressors. The course covers adolescent development, common mental illnesses, substance use and a 5-step action plan. It is not intended for professionals who have a background in mental health.
The 6-hour training is completed in two parts:
- FIRST, you will complete a self-paced 2-hour training online. This MUST be completed before being admitted to the virtual session.
- SECOND, you will attend a live, online, 4-hour training with two of our certified trainers where you will learn more information and will practice applying the information to real-life scenarios.
Virtual Class
This training is fully online and requires participation from all attendees, you will need to have access to a computer with a microphone and preferably a camera. You will also need to commit to completing the 2-hour self-paced portion of the training at least two days in advance of your live training.
