Our comprehensive trauma team becomes your co-pilot through your whole healing journey, from from the time of your injury until you return to your life. For more than two decades, we have served nearly 50,000 customers and are proud of our 97 percent survival rate. We offer seamless, systemwide care, no matter the injury or the way you arrive in our hospitals. The resources that the North Memorial Health Hospital’s Level I Trauma Center offers means we have a solid system in place to give you the fastest care, in the right place, at the right time.
The North Memorial Health Advantage
- NMHH is verified as a Level I Adult Trauma Center by The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma which holds rigorous standards for patient safety and quality.
- NMHH is also designated by the Minnesota Statewide Trauma System through the Minnesota Department of Health as a Level I Adult Trauma Center that takes care of children.
- Maple Grove Hospital (MGH) is a Level IV Trauma Center. Additionally, the same Emergency Department providers work at both NMHH and MGH so we can easily collaborate and coordinate your care no matter where you go.
- These designations mean that we can take care of your entire family, and in some cases even room you together if needed. We have every resource possible to treat you.
- We are trusted, preferred trauma care providers. More than 75 locations in Minnesota and surrounding states refer trauma customers to North Memorial Health Hospital for care and 100 percent of our referring physicians say they would refer to us again.
- Our Trauma Team consists of trauma surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, respiratory therapists, social services, child life specialists, rehabilitation specialists, and more to help you make the best decisions about your care.
- We are leaders in injury prevention, trauma research, community outreach, and teaching for providers as well as medical students, surgical residents, and advance practice students. We track ourselves (and our successes) against important state and national quality standards.
- As part of our mission to prevent injuries, we have fit and given out more than 30,000 bike helmets, taught senior citizens and their families about fall prevention, provided life jacket loaner boxes at metro lakes, installed medicine-disposal boxes in Northwest Hennepin County, and worked with our community on substance abuse.
