Minnesota Hospital Association honors Resiliency Coach Kerry Appleton for innovation in retention and resiliency.
North Memorial Health is pleased to announce that Kerry Appleton, RN, Resiliency Coach, was recently recognized by the Minnesota Hospital Association by receiving a Workforce Innovation Award for her innovative approach to retention and resiliency at North Memorial Health.
The Minnesota Hospital Association Workforce Innovation Awards seek to recognize the outstanding work hospitals and health systems are doing to invest in their staff and celebrate the achievements in workforce development, despite a difficult and changing landscape due to a variety of economic trends and ongoing effects of the pandemic. Appleton’s Peer Resilience Program and one-on-one coaching provides an innovative approach to supporting team members and teaching skills that promote resilience in the face of stress and adversity.
“We are incredibly proud of the resiliency and wellbeing programs, tools and resources that Kerry has developed to help our team members cultivate a growth-mindset and resilience in the face of stress and adversity,” said Shannon Sloan, vice president, Human Resources. “Kerry’s work plays an integral role in our mission to look at healthcare differently and the added skillset that our team members build through her leadership is invaluable.”
Appleton joined North Memorial Health in 2021 and has quickly built both a robust resilience and wellbeing program as well as trusted relationships with team members, particularly those in patient care roles. With her background in nursing, Appleton knows first-hand what many are experiencing in today’s healthcare environment and approaches solutions with care, compassion and innovative ideas that support the whole person.
