Shannon Sloan, Vice President, Human ResourcesNorth Memorial Health is pleased to announce that Shannon Sloan, Vice President of Human Resources at North Memorial Health, was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board as a business representative effective March 22, for a three-year term. Sloan joined North Memorial Health in 2022 with more than 20 years of leadership experience. She currently leads strategy across employee and labor relations, talent acquisition, workforce data insights and analytics and human resources.

In her new advisory role, Sloan will advise the Governor, state agencies and the legislature on issues related to the state’s public workforce development system, as well as overseeing the state’s four-year Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) State Plan.

“I am proud of this opportunity to serve as an advocate and voice for Minnesota’s workforce,” said Sloane. “I look forward to sharing ideas for improvements we can make now that will have a positive influence on the next generation of workers. The tough questions will drive progress—Do underrepresented populations have the opportunities they need to be independent, contributing members of society? How can we remove barriers to their success?”

“Shannon’s leadership experience in both operations and human resources will bring a unique and productive perspective to this important role,” said Julie Kline, Chief Human Resources Officer, North Memorial Health. “She keenly understands the strategies required to improve working environments to better serve our workforce—today and into the future.”

In addition to Sloan’s appointment, Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz and Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan also announced appointments to the Advisory Council on Interstate Adult Offender Supervision; Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board; Commission of the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing; Council on Disability; Minnesota Housing Finance Agency Board of Directors; and State Advisory Council for Interstate Supervision of Juvenile Offenders and Runaways.
