North Memorial Medical Center Receives Gold Performance Awards from HealthPartners

North Memorial Medical Center was awarded the Gold Performance Award for Quality of Care & Services and the Gold Performance Award for Quality of Communication by HealthPartners on November 1. These two awards recognize North Memorial Medical Center for demonstrating excellence in care, health and cost.

North Memorial Medical Center received these two awards for our high-quality cardiovascular care and our multidisciplinary approach with communication across the Emergency Department, Heart & Vascular Institute and Patient Care Access teams. With this multidisciplinary approach, care for patients presenting with concerning Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) symptoms in the Emergency Department are ruled out for an Acute Myocardial Infarction and then transferred from an inpatient to an outpatient setting. The transfer to an outpatient setting minimizes unnecessary costs, improves patient satisfaction and increases reimbursement dollars. Plus, the collaborative effort across these teams has allowed our patients to leave the Emergency Department with a scheduled follow-up stress test appointment which improves our retention for follow-up outpatient testing by 13 percent.
