North Memorial Health received the Minnesota Hospital Association’s 2026 Innovation in Technology Award for its early implementation of the Bioness Integrated Therapy System (BITS®) with Functional Reality, an advanced virtual reality platform transforming neurorehabilitation for patients recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, concussion and spinal cord injuries.

The immersive system blends virtual, mixed, and functional reality to mimic everyday tasks, creating more engaging and personalized therapy experiences. This technology-driven approach enhances patient motivation, provides real-time performance insights, and helps clinicians tailor treatment for stronger outcomes and faster recovery.

North Memorial Health received the Minnesota Hospital Association’s 2026 Exceptional Minnesota Hospital Workplace Award for our organization-wide refresh of the Team Member Appreciation Program.

This recognition highlights collaboration across Learning & Development, Human Resources, Information Systems, and leaders throughout the organization who helped design and implement a new approach to recognition and engagement.

Together, these teams created a multi-tiered, values-based program that fosters connection, celebrates achievements, and strengthens engagement across the organization.

Minnesota Monthly has released its Top Doctors list – an annual recognition of the physicians who were most frequently named by fellow colleagues for their outstanding care and expertise. North Memorial Health is proud to have five of our doctors included, representing both the hospital and clinic setting – a testament to the excellence across our organization.

This national recognition shows how our care measures up to some of the best hospitals in the country – reflecting our commitment to quality, efficiency, and exceptional patient care.

North Memorial Health received a score of 85 out of 100 and the designation of “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality High Performer” in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2026 Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) – an honor we also achieved in 2024.

The HEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey of healthcare facilities on policies and practices dedicated to the equitable treatment and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees. In 2026, 750 healthcare facilities participated in the HEI survey, and 345 of those earned “High Performer” designation.
