Approach To Care
Dr. Carlson partners with individuals who are living with a mental illness and to help them build a fulfilled life. He emphasizes patient choice, and he works with individuals to create a holistic treatment plan to achieve their goals. He believes that medications work best when they are used with other therapies, and through living a healthy lifestyle. When medications are used, he works with patients to use the smallest number of medications at the lowest effective doses possible.
Dr. Carlson has experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns, but he particularly enjoys working with individuals who have bipolar disorder or who have experienced psychosis.

Personal
Dr. Carlson was raised in Minnesota, where he also completed most of his training. His favorite thing to do is spend time with his family. He also enjoys reading good books, listening to classical music and running.
