Emergency Medicine
I aim to investigate and provide recommendations on how customers should manage their health care concerns.

Approach To Care

As a board-certified emergency physician, Dr. Matticks believes that his role is to investigate and provide recommendations on how customers should manage their health care concerns. He appreciates working with well informed customers, but also understands his responsibility in meeting them where they are in terms of their own health literacy, history or access to information.

Experience

Dr. Matticks attended the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his formal training in Emergency Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center. He has worked as an emergency physician since joining North Memorial Health Care in 1994.

Dr. Matticks is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine, most recently re-certified in 2015, and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the primary professional organization of emergency physicians.

Personal

Dr. Matticks enjoys challenging the limits of his fitness and durability by participating in various endurance events throughout the year, such as marathons, triathlons and cross-country skiing. He is an avid reader (fiction, non-fiction, current events), soccer fan and unabashed, self-described “foodie.” Though Dr. Matticks feeds off the energy of others, he also likes quiet downtime.

Accepted Insurance

All North Memorial Health providers, with the exception of senior clinic providers, accept the following insurance carriers. Because health insurance plan payments vary and benefit levels are unique to each plan, you may confirm out of pocket cost with your insurance carrier by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.

  • Aetna
  • Blue Cross
  • HealthPartners
  • Humana
  • Medica
  • Medical Assistance
  • Medicaid
  • Medicare
  • Preferred One
  • Ucare
  • UnitedHealthcare
