By donating an item or meal through the North Memorial Health Foundation, you help bring joy, comfort, and hope to our team members, patients, and their families. Your gift supports care across our entire non-profit health system—including North – Robbinsdale Hospital, North – Maple Grove Hospital, North Memorial Health Ambulance Services, North Memorial Health Clinics, North – Robbinsdale Cancer Center, and North Memorial Health Hospice.

Most needed items

Your donations help us provide comfort for patients and their families during hospital stays.

Note: Due to infection prevention and safety policies, we cannot accept homemade food, used items, toy weapons, bikes, or sports equipment.

  • Activities: Adult coloring books, colored pencils, crayons, new or slightly used books and magazines, word finds, crosswords and Sudoku puzzles
  • Clothing (new): Various sizes, genders and seasons
  • Hygiene and personal care: Hygiene and grooming items
    • Travel Size: Soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, deodorant (unscented), facial tissues (Kleenex or similar), hand lotion, lip balm, combs or brushes, hair ties/clips, detangling sprays, sanitary napkins/tampons, face masks, sunscreen, or hygiene kits (small, pre-packed sets with travel-sized items)

 

  • Art supplies: Crayons, markers, coloring books, stickers, scissors, journals, craft kits
  • Babies and toddlers: Fitted crib sheets, swaddle blankets, cotton sleepers (preemie and newborn sizes), rattles/teethers, toddler toys (stacking and sorting toys)
  • Sensory: Spinning toys, stress balls, bubbles, light-up wands, non-latex children’s band-aids, Play-Doh
  • Technology: Nintendo switch system and games (E and T rated), Xbox and games
  • Tie blankets: New/unused blankets and quilts. Fleece tie blankets are preferred as they are non-allergenic. The ideal size is 1.5 yards x 1.5 yards or 2.5 yards x 1.5 yards
  • Toys: Books (multilingual), Hot Wheels, Lego sets, plastic animals, action figures, baby dolls, new stuffed animals, card and board games
  • Food and meals: Food and meal donations are a special treat for our team members and are always appreciated, especially during long shifts!

Note: Due to infection control measures, food items cannot be homemade and must be pre-packaged or packed by a licensed restaurant/catering provider

Absolutely!

Items must be new and in their original packaging. However, gently used books or magazines are acceptable.

To protect patient privacy, donated items are distributed on comfort care carts by our volunteer service teams. Learn more about volunteer opportunities.

  • Homemade food or baked goods
  • Items with strong scents (e.g., perfumes, scented lotions)
  • If you would like to support a specific program or department, please label the donation.
  • Complete our item donation form before dropping off your items or at the time of donation.

Yes, if you have filled out our item donation form you will receive a tax acknowledgment receipt by mail from our Foundation.
