Beyond providing exceptional medical care, our hospice teams help patients, and their loved ones find comfort and peace while creating lasting memories.
For Gaye, a hospice patient for two years, music had always been a deep love. Growing up in a musical family, she sang in a Scottish group and a barbershop quartet. When our Music Therapy team offered to record her heartbeat as a legacy gift for her family, she was overjoyed—and even wanted to sing.
With Ranell, her Music Therapist, Gaye recorded a heartfelt song, Opens in new window opening with the rhythm and sound of her own heartbeat. Through contributions to our hospice program, we were able to purchase an electronic stethoscope, a new computer, microphones and recording equipment to bring this beautiful keepsake to life. Now other families also have the opportunity to create something just as meaningful—a recording that captures the love and memories they can cherish for years to come.
