Our Commitment to Privacy and Safety

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity

Updated: Jan. 13, 2026

As Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity has increased in our communities, the safety and privacy of North Memorial Health patients remains our top priority.

While these situations can create uncertainty, our policies and procedures for handling law-enforcement requests have not changed. We:

  • Protect patient and team member information.
  • Respond only through proper legal channels.
  • Follow established processes to ensure compliance and safety.

These measures are in place to safeguard everyone who seeks care at all of our facilities. We remain focused on providing a safe, welcoming environment for all and will continue to monitor developments closely.

Law enforcement officers may be in public areas such as hallways, the cafeteria, waiting rooms open to the public, lobbies, and outdoor spaces/parking lots. They cannot enter private patient areas unless they have a valid court order or are accompanying a patient in their custody.

Stay calm and continue with your care. Our team is trained to handle these situations and will follow legal and safety procedures.

Many of our outpatient appointments can be converted from an in-person to a telehealth appointment. Feel free to ask our schedulers to make that change and we will do our best to accommodate your request. View more information about virtual care options.
