Kara is dedicated to her patients’ well-being and goes above and beyond to ensure their comfort and satisfaction. Personal
Kara’s medical career began in 1993 when she became a certified nurses assistant at her local nursing home in Crosby, North Dakota. She attended the University of North Dakota before moving to Tampa, FL. Kara earned a Bachelor’s in Cardiopulmonary Science and became a Respiratory Therapist in 1998. After working as an RT for several years, she continued following her passion for people, health, and wellness and obtained her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant studies from Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2008.
Kara moved to the Minneapolis area with her husband and kids in 2010 and began working at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Internal Medicine. After several years, she transitioned to the Lung Transplant team until leaving in 2017 for an Urgent Care position. Kara has also worked in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for 2 years.
Kara appreciates that she can draw from her diverse background, experience, and medical knowledge to offer patient care that truly sees them as a whole person and factors in their overall health and wellness.
When Kara isn’t doing patient care, she volunteers at her kids’ schools, runs marathon, and loves camping with her family and friends.
