Briar believes a strong therapeutic alliance between patient and clinician is essential for good therapy outcomes. Listening to her patients to fully understand their experience, history, and goals is key to her approach to speech therapy.
As a former teacher, she values education in her sessions and ensures patients not only can do the tasks, but that they understand why the tasks are valuable for them. Briar meets each patient where they are and sees them as a whole person, rather than as their diagnosis.

Briar is a performer at heart and has participated in both community and professional choirs. She has also been in community theater productions in her hometown of Cedar Rapids, IA. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and dogs, playing video games, and making music.
