North Memorial Health offers many ways to volunteer, learn and grow.

Volunteering Opportunities

With nearly 100 different ways to get involved, North Memorial Health has an opportunity to fit nearly every interest. Provide companionship and hand massages to chemo customers, assist imaging and lab customers to their appointments, or cut waiting-room tension with updates on loved ones’ surgery statuses. And that’s just the start.

Domestic Abuse Advocacy (SafeJourney)

Volunteer advocates for SafeJourney provide information, support, and advocacy for those who do not feel safe in a relationship. SafeJourney helps envision a safer future and provide the essential resources and safety planning for clients to reach their goals. Our advocates witness the clients’ courage, strength, and fearlessness toward a safe journey.

Applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be 18 or older
  • Pass background check
  • No experience needed, all training is provided
  • Be able to respond to both hospitals with their own transportation
  • Required to volunteer two shifts a month for a minimum of one year
  • Must have been out of a domestic violence services/unsafe relationship for a year prior to volunteering
