Accepting New Patients

Approach To Care

The most important part about approaching the management of cancer is making individualized treatment plans based on the patients’ wishes, desires and goals. Instead of viewing patients as mere statistics, Dr. Olson prioritizes open communication and collaboration to identify the most suitable course of action and treatment plan. This approach ensures that patients are actively involved in the decision-making and feel a sense of comfort and confidence in the chosen treatment plan.

Dr. Olson’s clinical interests include stereotactic body radiation therapy and all types of malignancies, specifically in the head and neck.

Personal

Medicine has always been a large part of Dr. Olson’s life, and cancer was something he had to experience at a very young age having multiple family members be diagnosed with cancer. When he witnessed his friends and family members go through treatment through their cancer journey, it made him want to be someone who could help others on that journey. Both of his parents, aunts and uncles are physicians. Being close to those who dedicate their careers to helping others was a huge driving force in terms of getting Dr. Olson where he is today in the field of oncology.

Outside of work, Dr. Olson and his wife love to spend time outdoors as much as they can whether that be jogging, boating, skiing, snowmobiling or golfing. They were both born and raised in Minnesota, and they find great joy in making the most of the different activities in each season.
