Eight North Memorial Health providers – nominated by their peers in the community – have been selected for Mpls.St.Paul Magazine’s annual Top Doctor Award, honoring top-achieving medical doctors who provide excellent care.

Fritz Arnason, MD – Concierge Medicine, Internal Medicine
North Memorial Health – Minnetonka Medical Center

Dr. Arnason specializes in concierge medicine and believes recognizing and identifying his patients’ individual health and fitness goals is essential in developing a plan to reach them. He provides preventive and acute medical care along with chronic disease management. Dr. Arnason emphasizes the importance of nutrition, fitness and work/life balance while including recognized standards for cardiovascular and cancer screening prevention.

Lex A. Nerenberg, MD – Internal Medicine

Mark Prebonich, MD – Internal Medicine

Dr. Prebonich is an Internal Medicine provider that enjoys building strong relationships with his patients with an emphasis on preventative health care while actively engaging them with medical decision making.

Crispin J. Semakula, MD, MSc – Endocrinology

Dr. Crispin J. Semakula approaches patient care by taking the entire person into perspective as well as gaining a thorough understanding of everyone’s medical and socioeconomic needs. He works to develop a personal connection with each patient in order to improve outcomes through individualized care and evidence based medical practice.

Jennifer Woodland, MD – Family Medicine, Obstetrics
North Memorial Health Clinic – New Hope

Dr. Woodland aims to embrace the “family” part of being a family physician, dutifully fulfilling her role to take care of the entire family. In practicing obstetrics, she has had the honor of delivering many healthy babies – several of whom she has since watched grow as she continues to oversee their health along the way.

Farha Khan, MD, FACE – Endocrinology
North Memorial Health – Minnetonka Medical Center

Dr. Khan is the director of endocrinology and diabetes and has extensive experience treating disorders of the endocrine system including type 1 and 2 diabetes, pituitary and adrenal disorders, osteoporosis, thyroid issues, metabolic bone disease and more.

Charles H. Horowitz, MD – Brain & Neurology, Rehabilitation
Maple Grove Hospital and North Memorial Health Hospital

Dr. Horowitz is a neurologist who listens to his patients so he can provide the most accurate diagnosis and best care possible. He believes they are the most successful when they collaborate in a trusting and respectful manner.

Leslie A. Baken, MD – Infectious Disease

In her over 25 years of experience as an infectious disease physician, Dr. Baken has learned the importance of listening. She strives to hear her patient’s facts, fears and experiences. By uncovering their needs, she is able to learn things about her patient’s experiences and issues that critically affect their health.
