Emergency & Trauma

We're Your Emergency Contact

When the worst happens, we’re at our best. No matter how serious your emergency, we have the sharpest skills and finest resources to treat you immediately. Our Level I Trauma Center at North Memorial Health Hospital and Emergency Care Center at Maple Grove Hospital coordinate care and share physicians for consistently exceptional results. Together, our emergency, trauma, and surgery teams treat thousands of people a year, but you’re never just a number: You’re our priority. Our multidisciplinary team works with you to get you back to your multifaceted, yet very singular life, stat.

The North Memorial Health Advantage

Emergency Departments

  • North Memorial Health Hospital is a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, which is the highest accreditation a trauma and emergency center can receive. That means we have the resources to treat every possible injury, making us a leader in trauma care.
  • We have two exceptional, experienced emergency departments: Our board-certified emergency physicians and nurses provide emergency and acute care to nearly 110,000 people every year.
  • Both North Memorial Health Hospital and Maple Grove Hospital emergency departments are used as models for other emergency departments nationwide. We designed for privacy and dignity with private rooms and quiet waiting spaces, as well as large critical-care spaces.
  • We strive to help you understand your visit and encourage your personal preferences when possible.
  • We’re fast and effective. Our emergency departments demonstrate some of the best heart and stroke care. We consistently open blocked coronary arteries even faster than national standards recommend.

Trauma Center

  • We are trusted, preferred trauma care providers. More than 75 locations in Minnesota and surrounding states refer trauma customers to North Memorial Health Hospital for care and 100 percent of our referring physicians would refer to us again.
  • We collaborate. Our trauma team and surgeons partner with advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians, respiratory therapists, social services, Child Life Specialists, and more to help you make the best decisions about your care.
  • We lead. Our trauma services staff are leaders in injury prevention programs, teaching, research, community outreach, and provider education—and we track ourselves (and our success) against important state and national quality standards.
