Approach To Care

Emily’s therapeutic practice is anchored in Radical Acceptance, Harm Reduction, Allyship, and the belief that given the time, resources, support and opportunity, all individuals have the ability to heal. Emily’s style has been described as safe, authentic, real, non-judgmental, straightforward, empathic and fun.

Therapeutic modalities most commonly used in Emily’s work are: Solution-Focused, Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Feminist, Humanistic, Attachment and Narrative. Creating a safe and welcoming space that is trauma-informed and non-judgmental is important in developing a therapeutic alliance in which the hard and important work can be done.

Emily also has a proven ability to support clients in accessing resources in order to meet critical needs, including shelter, housing, food, and other basic needs.
