Mental Health - Inpatient
I strive to LEARN daily - Listen, Empathize, Advise, Reassure and be Nonjudgmental.

Approach To Care

Individuals and families of those who suffer from mental illness often suffer in silence. Dr. Abdulhusein understands the challenge of this stigma.

His exemplary listening skills enable him to diagnose and recommend treatment plans in conjunction with the patient’s goals. He has experience in treating patients in a variety of settings including the outpatient clinic, the inpatient psychiatric hospital, the emergency department and the medical hospital.

He appreciates that the best outcomes usually occur when medications and therapy are used in conjunction. He enjoys treating all psychiatric illnesses but has a particular affinity for personality and substance use disorders. He also has experience treating mental health issues during and after pregnancy.

Dr. Abdulhusein strives to have an honest and straightforward discussion regarding his treatment recommendations with the patient. When it comes to patient care, his philosophy is ‘Do No Harm.’

One of his favorite quotes is “Kindness is the language that the blind can see and the deaf can hear.”
