Knowing that the first step into the unknown can be frightening, Dr. Lucian Panait walks alongside his patients through their medical and surgical weight loss journeys, offering a wide variety of ways forward, including new medication options as well as minimally invasive bariatric surgery. His approach to quality care is defined by a caring commitment, providing support from decision-making through treatment and beyond; his passion is to help each person find the right path forward for them.
Trained as a general surgeon, Dr. Panait also completed fellowships at Yale University School of Medicine specific to bariatric weight-loss surgery and uses endoscopic, laparoscopic and robotic technology as a complement to other successful non-surgical weight loss options. A frequent lecturer, he holds leadership positions in the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Americas Hernia Society, and offers his expertise in hernia repair at the Minnesota Hernia Center.
